THE FORMER REFORMATI
ORDERS’S MONASTERIES ROUTE

The Former Reformati Order’s Monasteries Route, that we would like to invite you to, passes through the eastern areas of our country (voivodeships: Podlaskie, eastern part of Mazovian, Lubelskie, Podkarpackie) and western areas of Ukraine. In Poland the route is over 500 km long and crosses: Boćki (Podlaskie Voivodeship), Węgrów (Mazovian Voivodeship), Biała Podlaska (Lubelskie Voivodeship), Lublin (Lubelskie), Zamość (Lubelskie) and Przemyśl (Podkarpackie Voivodeship). On the Ukrainian side, the trail runs through Sądowa-Wisznia, Lwów and ends in Rawa Ruska. In each of these places there was a monastery and church complex of the Reformati. The Reformati have never constituted a separate order. They derive from the Order of Friars Minor Ordo Fratrum Minorum (OFM), commonly known as Franciscans. More precisely, the Reformati are the Franciscans of Primitive Observance.
